How the ranking works

The default sort order “Recommended” ranks driving schools by their value-for-money score. We don't show the score as a rating — it only sets the order, and the formula behind it is fully public. There is no paid component: driving schools cannot buy their position.

Advertising, if there is any, only appears in separate slots marked “Ad”. It never appears within the recommendation, never changes a value-for-money score and never appears on another driving school's profile. A driving school's Premium package has no influence on the order either.

If you enter your address or postcode, distance counts too: price 50 % · distance 30 % · services 20 %. If you only search for a city, there is no reference point — then it is price 60 % · services 40 %.

Distance

30 %

Straight-line distance from your address, or the centre of your postcode, to the driving school. Up to 1 km counts in full, then steadily less, and from 20 km not at all. A fixed scale rather than a ranking: if every school is 2–3 km away, they are practically equally close. We don't store your address.

Price

50 %

The total cost for category B — basic fee + 25 driving lessons + 12 special drives + exam presentation fee + €155 examination fees — compared with the driving schools in your city: we count how many schools are more expensive. A ranking rather than a gap, so that individual outliers don't distort the scale.

Services

20 %

How many of these 21 points the driving school's website mentions — compared with the other schools in your city. All points count equally. A higher price can stand for more service; that is why the services are part of the score.

A missing point means: not found on the website — not that the school doesn't offer it.

A comparison, not a rating

Price and services are compared within your city. So the score doesn't say how good the training is — we can't measure that — but how price, services and distance compare with the other schools. That's why we don't show it as a number or colour, only as an order.

No price, no score

Only schools that publish their prices, and whose website we have analysed, get a value-for-money score. We don't estimate anything. Driving schools without a score come after those with one in the recommendation — sorted there by proximity, availability and data quality. All of them stay listed.

Driving schools that aren't taking new learners right now appear at the end of the list — but they stay visible.
